When are babies able to eat by themselves?
Although on average, babies usually can eat by themselves after they turn two years old, it is recommended that parents should help their children to develop a desire to eat themselves when they are during 1-2 year old. Being able to hold spoons is a sign that the child is able to eat by himself; however, parents should be patient to train their children to eat independently after their children be able to hold spoons, since eating independently require children to utilize their fingers, which it requires more than just holding the spoon, and it takes more time.
